Yes, what were you saying exactly? As far as I can recall, you were trying your level best to put down all educational institutes in India. In the end, somehow that seemed to be a justification for reservations.
Your argument is strange. Let's say fruits in a particular season are bad and have worms in them. Does that justify taking away fruits from those who are willing to pay full price and giving it to people who can't?
An interesting point about the adequacy of teacher:student ratio in India! Of course, reservation is being justified by the promise of imminent hiring of teachers so that the intake of general category remains constant! Sigh...
BTW, I work for the newspaper you took the report from!
Who allows this barbarian the freedom of thought & expression? I guess this is the downside of the internet! I'm now beginning to see why nobility, the intellegensia, the rich etc. are clannish. Why be dragged down into a sub-zero-IQ conversation by these half-wits?
barbarin: don't be silly. nobody's shooting down all educational institutions. I was shooting down the idea of merit as we tend to measure it. chintan: and so we all know. angry fix: you're welcome dipta: more teachers are welcome, aren't they? and more seats should be welcome too. the ratio is a problem, but wouldn't be as bad a problem if only the existing teachers showed up. that, in my view, is a more urgent issue. desh: ? opinionated: now, now... one does not insinuate such things.
Why do you think this has anything to do with your agenda of education and merit?
ReplyDeleteThis is an outright crime and you should look at it just that way.
oh come on, don't shoot her down so fast. We all have seen and heard these types of things plenty of times. This is not an isolated incident.
